Playoffs are just around the corner! We're all friends. Play hard, but stay civil.
1.0 Playoff structure
We will continue with the hybrid format (double-KO for the top four teams/single-KO for all other teams) this year.
For the first week:
- Due to the number of teams, the team finishing 5th in the regular season will have a "bye"
For the second week:
- The team that has the upper bracket advantage (winner of 1 v 4) can choose to play in either the first game or the last game of the day
- The team with the lower bracket advantage (loser of 2 v 3) may choose to either play in potential back-to-back games or to rest between potential games.
2.0 Eligible players
Teams may only use players on their roster who have fully paid by 8 PM on Saturday, August 20.
Players appearing in seven or fewer games may be left off the playoffs roster.
3.0 Playoff reminders
- All innings are open
- No extra runners for extra innings
4.0 Courtesy runners
Courtesy runners must be ready before a team may call time.
If the courtesy runner is not ready when a team calls time, an umpire may issue a delay of game and call a "strike" on the batter.
5.0 Conduct
Only managers may review a play with an umpire.
Umpires may eject players for unsportsmanlike conduct, including harassment:
- Chirping from benches
- Throwing equipment onto the field
- Throwing league equipment
- Swearing, offensive, or vulgar language (whether directed at anyone or not)
Players ejected during the playoffs are suspended a minimum of one game. The first game of a suspension is not reviewable.
6.0 End of season awards
Each manager can nominate their players for team awards by Friday, August 26:
- Pitcher of the year (min. 32 IP)
- Reliever of the year (min. 7 GP, max 31.2 IP)
- Most valuable player
- Gold glove
- Rookie of the year
The Commissioner will meet with a representative mix of members to determine league awards:
- Pitcher of the year (min. 32 IP)
- Reliever of the year (min. 7 GP, max 31.2 IP)
- Most valuable player
- Gold glove
- Rookie of the year
- Most improved player
- All-star selections (minimum of 26 players)
7.0 All star game
The manager of the regular season champions (first manager) will draft a team of all-stars against manager of the playoff champions (second manager):
- If the two teams are the same, then the second manager will be from the second overall team.
- Both managers may play in the game.
- The first manager can choose either home field advantage or to draft first.
- The draft will be a snake draft.
Regular season rules apply.
Good luck to all teams in the playoffs!
